Lyra is a very loving older girl who has really blossomed with us since her arrival to the UK. We can honestly say that whoever adopts her will wonder why she wasn't snatched up straight away as she is so sweet! She looks very beautiful as well, she has a thick coat like a polar bear and the most beautiful face. She has been with us a little while but there is no reason why, we think she's been unlucky. She is the dog who sits nicely at the front of her kennel in the midst of the hustle of bustle of kennel life. She is a real sweetie.
Lyra is very intelligent and knows her place in the world. She has good life skills and experience and she will suit the sort of person looking for a loyal and loving companion. She is a mature dog with a good head on her shoulders.
Lyra loves having fun though, and is always up for a good run around the paddock. She enjoys her belly rubs and having a good game as well as adventures in the woods and interesting walks. She may be a little older but she's totally unaware of it. She has some arthritis but is on supplements and she is doing really well on it. She has been fully vet checked, had a dental and blood profile done, and we are pleased to say this girl is in great shape. We would like to place Lyra in an adult only home (we never place senior dogs with children as they prefer quieter households). She can share with sensible canines, we always introduce potential doggie siblings at kennels prior to any adoption. She gets very attached to her people and is more of a people's dog than anything else. This is a girl who will bring a warm and happy energy to any home. She will be a joy to have, and she will be incredibly grateful to enjoy a comfortable retirement and to have for her senior years, what she has never had her entire life.

IDEAL HOME
An adult only home willing to take her on nice walks, and show her how lovely life can be, as this old girl does not yet know how happy she could be. She will love an affectionate and patient family. She will be a grateful dog when she gets adopted and would enjoy a garden of her own. She will also need people at home quite a bit for the first couple of weeks, a retired person or couple or someone working from home.
