Midge is a beautiful little dog who has had a very difficult life. She found herself terribly injured back in her native Romania in the pound she was held. Another dog grabbed the top of her head through the cage next door to hers and she found herself without any skin on top of her head. The wound has lealed, but she has no hair or pigmentation on top of her head and she also has a split ear. She must wear sun protection when out on her bold patch.

Midge came to us at the beginning of the year very frightened, and unwilling to connect with people or be touched. She has since moved on a great deal and has even spent a week on foster with one of our trusted volunteers to see how she would cope. She was the perfect house guest! She is not looking for fuss, but she is in a place now where she is starting to enjoy a stroke and very subtly asks for a little more by looking when you stop! She loves her food puzzles which we give her regularly, it keeps her entertained, and she loves exploring the outdoors.
Midge would be ok with another dog, preferably smaller, we
would need the dogs to be introduced prior an adoption at the kennels.

She does need an active home as she loves her walks depite being a little older, and someone with a secure garden who will keep her really safe in the initial phase, she can be a bit of an escape artist. In the home she was clean, slept through the night and got into the rythme of her foster carer's life very easily. The only areas of improvement and where a family would essentially be part of her continued rehabilitation is her confidence with people and new situations. She will turn into a dog who likes a fuss, but she's not quite there yet! All and all the fosterer described her as an uncomplicated little girl with a beautiful soul.

IDEAL HOME
An active, adult only home with a lovely and calm energy. She needs someone willing to visit her a few times at the kennels, prepare to invest in a happy future at her own pace, patient, loving and kind. She will want a quieter home, so she can enjoy life without any stresses.

Note:
All our dogs go on home trial for two weeks before an adoption. We offer post adoption support and access to a behaviourist and trainer for the life of our dogs.
