Note: Chester and his friend Emily are a great pair for anyone looking for or who would consider taking 2 dogs.
Chester may be around 7 or 8 years old but he is looking for a lovely active home. This boy has so much life and energy, we kind of wish we could all be as good as him in our senior years! He spent many years at a pound in Romania and now that he is with us and that his life is a lot better, he has become like a gorgeous puppy! He has a wonderful smile and will bring much happiness to a new home. Needless to say he is also absolutely stunning and is a bit of a head turner with his unusual colours. He will certainly appeal to anyone into their shepherd breeds too.
He loves the company of people, and is fine with most dogs, although he is not keen on any furry friends lacking social graces. He will let them know they are out of order if too much in his face. But he is a kind dog, he’s just a little worried around some dogs and will need a family who is confident to make him feel like they’ve got his back! Having another dog in the home may be quite a good thing for
him, as it would help with his confidence. He will likely also prefer someone who is at home quite a bit, as he is a very sociable dog and cuddly dog. He probably would not be great with cats and small furries and we don't place senior dogs with young children but otherwise a wonderful lively oldie with an appetite for life and cuddles! If you happen to be a runner and are looking for a canine running companion, this is also something that Chester likes, he has been going out for runs with volunteers and always comes back beaming!
IDEAL HOME
Chester needs an adult only home (16+) no small furries, experienced and wanting to give a lovely dog a chance to be happy. Chester has not been in a home previously, (as is the case for most of our dogs) so a little flexibility is required. He will need to learn about TVs, hoovers, and living indoor, but this is never a big thing for our kids they take to it very easily usually. Another dog as support would be great.
Note:
All our dogs go on home trial for two weeks before an adoption. We offer post adoption support and access to a behaviourist and trainer for the life of our dogs.
