Our Dogs...

IMPORTANT NOTES: Only families have who been homechecked AND who have an appointment with the kennel team within the following 2 weeks to view a dog will have priority viewing on their first choice.

Also, whilst some dogs may not be showing as 'Reserved' on the website, they may already have interest. If the dog you are interested in ends up not being the one for you, don't be disheartened, we have many wonderful dogs coming into the rescue regularly and the right friend will be out there for you, as this has proved to be the case time and time again with families who have adopted from us.

Grayson is a stunning dog who was rescued from a particularly terrible dog pound in Bucharest. He came to us as a very traumatised and scared dog and is making great progress. This is a dog who will likely always be somewhat fearful, but he bonds incredibly well with the people who care for him. He has also done very well with his latest vet appointment, which was to remove a number of teeth that were in a poor state. He took it all in his stride and we were all very proud :)
Grayson needs to be adopted by a very patient and understanding family who will not put him under any pressure to be something he cannot be and let him develop at his own pace. It will take a while to develop the relationship but every little sign of improvement, every little thing he does that he didn't do the day before will be worth celebrating and bring great joy. He is the kind of dog who will appeal to those who really want to make a difference for a dog who needs time, someone focused on what they can do for a dog in need. Much of his progress will be the result of allowing Grayson to simply be, observe and get used to his new environment without too much interference. With regards to other dogs he gets on fine with polite dogs and will let them spend time in his company. Saying that, little Florence who was a terrible flirt used to jump in his bed in the morning when the kennel doors were open and he quite liked it. It will be about introducing the dogs, if a family have existing ones, and seeing how the chemistry goes. We would not place him in a home with children, because of his fearful nature, he needs a quiet home with not too much traffic. He would actually do very well in a family who do go to work. allowing him his own 'me time'.
Grayson regularly spends times in foster where he is learning to be part of a family. He is spotless in the home and a perfect house guest in many ways. We hope that the right family will now come for him who will be willing to work with him to help him enjoy the best things that life has to offer.
Families looking to adopt this beautiful boy will need to commit to several visits at the kennels near Lichfield, to help him bond, but we know that the joy of seeing him progress in a home environment and gradually getting over his fears, and blossoming will be a very special experience. We sincerely hope that someone will want to give him the chance to become a loved family member.
